What is considered appropriate punishment for a dog, may not be considered appropriate for a child, and vice versa. Children are, without a doubt, loyal to their parents, but, is it the same kind of fealty one gets from their dog-child? For example, consider the teenage years. All of these factors should be taken into consideration before embarking on a possibly lifelong journey.
Now, some might squint at the use of the term, train when referring to raising a child. In all reality, raising a child is not unconnected training a dog. Dogs are taught to not bark when soul knocks on the door. Children are taught to not interrupt an adult when he or she is speaking. Dogs are taught to relieve themselves outside, perhaps even sign their master with a soft, bark at the backdoor when they need to be let out. Children are taught to, listen to their bodies, and to let a parent know when they need to go.
